P7, St Ninian's Prestwick

‘The Leavers’ P7 at St. Ninian’s Primary Prestwick have written and recorded a brilliant Christmas song called ‘Slayed by the Christmas Star’ (they had a little help from lil ol moi…lol!!!). My friend Ian Matchett came in with his equipment set up and recorded all the vocals in their own classroom. What a wonderful experience writing and recording for these young people. The end result is superb, they showed great creativity throughout every aspect even designing the artwork. All the singers/soloists/percussionists were great. It is now available for download on all the major platforms. There will be a story in the Ayrshire post and they promoted their first single with a fantastic live performance, serenading residents at a local Nursing Home I want to thank Mrs McPeake and Mr Lee for all their help and support on this project.

LYRICS

1.
The darkest night slayed by the Christmas star.
Chaos will never survive here
Our enemies will fall to the ground.
When this beautiful world is in a fight,
I look up to you and I'm bathed in light.
And everything's alright.

 Chorus
We're singing of the Christmas story, the Christmas star
Jesus is the light of the world.
The Angels declared His Glory, He lit up the dark
Jesus is The Light of the world
To Him we sing.. The King of Kings
And Everything’s alright.

 2.
The Christmas star so bright in the midnight sky,
Glistening like the moon, brighter than the sparkle in your eyes.
Born in a stable  on that precious night
I look up to you and I'm bathed in light.
And everything's alright.

Chorus
We're singing of the Christmas story, the Christmas star
Jesus is the light of the world.
The Angels declared His Glory, He lit up the dark
Jesus is The Light of the world
To Him we sing.. The King of Kings
And Everything’s alright.
