Till the next one!
Scott Nicol Music Possibility Screams Gro Coffee, Ayr MAY/JUNE 2022
So much happening at #PossibilityScreams #ScottNicolMusic but I wanted just to say we had two fantastic gigs at Gro Coffee Ayr - in May and June of this year.
These were kind of showcase events for up and coming ‘artists’ and also artists that I invited to play. The staff and management at Gro could not be more generous and accommodating.
I just want to Honour all the players - Debbie Campbell, Mithian Perry, Ava Gemmell, Georgia Patterson, Kayla Hunter, Lorraine Handling, Elissa Poli, Shayla Belle Bletsoe, Ryah Henderson and Emily and Gemma Duffy. They were all brilliant and at different stages in their artistic development. Some as young as 9/10yrs. I want to give people the chance to play in front of an encouraging audience. They were superb and thanks to everyone who came and supported.
Thanks to Darren Kelly and Gary MacDonald who were my wee backing band and thanks to my friend Alister Dickson for his brilliant photography.
Till next time.

Scott Nicol Music - Possibility Screams December 2021
Schools /Youth
I have been so privileged to work with 3 primary schools already this year. Heathfield, St. Ninian’s and Annanhill. I played a couple of outdoor gigs at Heathfield. I was asked to play at their 90th birthday celebrations (hope they didn’t think that was my age?) and it was great to involve some of the pupils who sang with me. I also loved song writing with the P6 pupils, it was wonderful. I will be running song writing classes at Crosshill early 2022 and I am to hopeful to get into Ayr Academy next year. I am also working with young people song writing at ‘Room 60 ‘in Ayr. This has been fantastic and I see similar openings in 2022.
‘The Leavers’ P7 at St. Ninian’s Primary Prestwick have written and recorded a brilliant Christmas song called ‘Slayed by the Christmas Star’. (They had a little help from lil ol moi…lol!!!). My friend Ian Matchett came in with his equipment set up and recorded all the vocals in their own classroom. What a wonderful experience writing and recording for these young people.
The end result is superb, they showed great creativity throughout every aspect even designing the artwork. All the singers/ soloists/ percussionists were great. It will be available for download on all the major platforms. There will be a story in the Ayrshire Post and we will be promoting their first single with a live performance… watch this space for details and launch date. I want to thank Mrs McPeake and Mr Lee for all their help and support on this project.
The ’6’s’ at Annanhill Primary School Kilmarnock (3 classes) have written and recorded a fantastic Christmas song (with a little help from moi!!) called ‘Christmas is The Light of the Year’. Again my good friend Ian Matchett came in, set up and we got all the vocals/percussion/solos done in one morning (no mean feat!!)..we even had one of the teachers Mrs Donohoe on mic giving a fantastic performance.
They were a joy to work with and designed the artwork. It is available for download on all major platforms and they are doing a live performance Wed 15th outdoors at the school. I want to thank Mrs Donohoe, Mrs Scott, Mrs Wallace and Miss McCartney for all their amazing help.

SCOTT NICOL MUSIC - POSSIBILITY SCREAMS JULY 2021
SMILE - THE SINGLE IS OUT NOW!
Just in time for hazy days, lazy days and great weather… Smile is here! A sweet summer breeze of a song written by Scott Nicol and Lisa Henderson. It features 16yr old Emily Best on lead vocals and she is just stunning, bringing a maturity beyond her years. Emily just oozes a lightness of touch which is needed for this track that makes you feel like you are walking on ‘golden sands’.
We have two versions of this Song, the main one features Matthew Wraight rapping and his lyrics perfectly fit the mood of the song and he brings even more joy. The second version has no rap section but feels equally complete. The whole project was recorded and mixed by the brilliant Ian Matchett. He also played on the track and his lovely wife Deborah sang beautiful backing vocals. We have also shot a wonderful acoustic version on Prestwick Beach in Ayrshire, filmed by the talented Colin Hyslop (watch below and available on YouTube.
Lisa also provided the lovely artwork and the whole thing was packaged beautifully by Rishaad El Moudden ready for download distribution by EMU Bands to all major platforms - you can download it NOW!
Relax and enjoy the summer vibes and let ‘Smile’ wash over you.
Scott Nicol Music - Possibility Screams June 2021
Summer is here!!!..... I am very excited to announce that Imaginary Friends Music Partners (IFMP) USA Exclusive Song Catalogue have signed myself, Sian Clark and Emily Best. Sian sings so amazingly on the track ‘Beautiful inside and out’ and Emily sings so emotively on the heartfelt Pop Ballad ‘Still saying goodbye’. Emily co-wrote the track with myself and I am so thankful to Beth Wernick at IFMP for showing such love and belief in the songs.
Emily is also featured singer on forthcoming song ‘Smile’ which I co-wrote with Lisa Henderson. We recorded it with the brilliant Ian Matchett and Emily Best is just stunning on vocals. It also features a lovely ‘Rap’ section by Matthew Wraight. It’s just a sea breeze of a song perfect for Sunny Days and good weather. More details to follow (not quite complete) and forthcoming video.

Scott Nicol Music - Possibility Screams April 2021
Hello!
Here at Scott Nicol Music / Possibility Screams I aim to continually move forward… even during tough times.
I am still livestreaming on Facebook and Instagram on my own pages and sometimes for other pages. I am still teaching guitar (mainly online at moment but better days are coming folks!!) I have been collaborating with great people. Bradley Sperger from the USA has his debut album coming out in the summer and I co-wrote some songs on the record which is very exciting.
I wrote the summer sounding song ‘Smile’ with Lisa Henderson. We are recording it soon with Ian Matchett and we will have the very talented young artist Emily Best on lead vocals which is brilliant.
I was asked to play for Heathfield Primary at their 90th Birthday celebrations. It was a real thrill and honour as an ex pupil to be invited and I even made it into the paper!!! Fame at last. lol.
Always lots going on with me and looking to the future with optimism. Can’t wait for live music with a real audience to resume and my first ‘Possibility Screams’ event for some time. When that happens I will defo let you know. Sorry if I missed anything out, just wanted to say hi…

Merry Christmas December 2020
2020 has been a very difficult year for everyone !!!
I am so thankful I have managed to stay very creative and as busy as I could. I do want to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. 2021 has to be …has to be …so much better, and I hope it is a great one for you.
I am thankful Possibility Screams has finished really strong this year. I have a video featuring 19 students all recorded during Lockdown which is wonderful and I so appreciate their kind words.
I wrote a song with an amazing young artist, Sophie Henderson only 12yrs old, called ‘In Future fields’. It was released in November and is now on all major platforms for download and there is a lovely lyric video on YouTube. It was nice to work with Poppy Scotland as we promoted this song.
I have written many songs this year and five with a young American artist, Bradley Sperger and we are now working on a sixth with my good friend Jeremy Levif. Bradley hopes to have an album out in March 2021.
On the 12th of December I had 3 great young artists, Kirsty Macleod (Catching Fireflies), Emily Best and Sophie Henderson singing live on Tsukure Radio in Ayr.
Bringing it right up till date… 11th Dec was the release date for Sian Clark’s debut single ‘Beautiful inside and out’ and the video was released on the 20th of Dec. I wrote the song and Sian, who is only 16yrs, did an amazing job recording it. We already have had radio airplay and hope the song helps the great charity of the same name. I really want to thank Jeremy Nanton-Hamel for the brilliant video. The song is available for download on all major platforms and video on YouTube. I have so many people to thank that have made this year as successful as it could be during these crazy times. Samuel Gallagher - EssGee Productions, Gillian Foster, Pauline Moriarty, Euan Ruddick (ADN), Peter Anderson, Rishaad Moudden and Gary MacDonald… everyone in the video… sorry if I missed anyone out anywhere…Can’t wait to get back to live music in 2021 and Possibility Screams events and so much more…

SCOTT NICOL MUSIC - POSSIBILITY SCREAMS! OCTOBER 2020
Who would have believed we would have had such an unbelievable year? These are just crazy times we are living in but I hope you are all well.
As you know, I like to keep people up to date with my musical adventures and amazingly during these difficult days I am still going strong. Here are some highlights and future events.
I am excited that 19 of my students are on my new promotional video (see below). All saying very kind words and I will be using it to promote Possibility Screams and to think this was all done during these difficult days. So thankful to everyone and to Gary MacDonald who put it all together for me.
Thanks to Euan Ruddick from Ayrshire Daily News who interviewed myself and Pastor Jim Smith and has wife Cathy for a great event ‘Inside and Out’ for the amazing organisation ‘Hope for Justice’.
As well as my regular Thursday livestream slots I have played online for The Doghouse Open mic Lockdown session and Chris’s Floral and Gifts (USA), Saturday 3rd October at 2pm UK Time. I have filmed videos outdoors of some of my original songs, and played guitar for the amazing Debbie Campbell for her livestream slots and live original song videos. We have also sang at some more lovely Nursing Homes (outdoors).
I have worked with the amazing Ian Matchett, recording for the great young USA artist Bradley Sperger. Bradley and I have written 4 songs together at the moment.

SCOTT NICOL MUSIC - Possibility Screams! SEPTEMBER 2020
Amazingly, Possibility Screams is still inspiring people during this crazy year. Thank you so much to everyone who took part in this video and for your lovely, kind words. Thanks so much to Gary MacDonald for putting it all together!
SCOTT NICOL MUSIC - Possibility Screams! July 2020
I hope you are doing really well. Thankfully we are edging ever nearer toward some kind of normality. I try to stay creative, busy and positive. All things considered this has been a very creative time for me.
I am writing songs with a really talented young American artist Bradley Sperger… oh the wonders of technology! I have written quite a few songs during lockdown and the creative river is still flowing. My regular live streams have been wonderful for connecting with people and playing my original material (and covers). I am still shooting some low key videos on my phone of original songs and posting on Facebook and IGTV. I am really pleased at the response.
I have also played a couple of online gigs for The Marine Hotel Troon which potentially allows me to tap into a new audience. I am playing an online gig for The Smoking Goat Ayr Friday 10th 7.30pm on their Facebook page. As well as live streaming on my own page I played for The Doghouse open mic lockdown session. I also played guitar for the amazing Debbie Campbell on this same page during her set and we showcased her great new song ‘Lonesome, love sick and cold’ which I co-wrote with the brilliant Robert Neil and of course Debbie. Speaking of Debs we have sang outdoors at some Nursing Homes and hopefully cheered up some lovely elderly people along the way.
Thankfully I have still being doing some guitar lessons on Zoom/Skype and now some face to face so Possibility Screams is alive and kicking.
It will be great to be a part of the ‘Let Loose’ online concert July 24th, and the next Possibility Screams event will be for the wonderful Charity ‘Beautiful Inside And Out’. No date yet but you will hear nearer the time.
Thanks for all the love… as you can see I am still busy and (left some things out)… lol……stay safe, hope to see you soon.

POSSIBILITY SCREAMS! 3 MAY 2020
I hope you are doing well during these extraordinary days we are living in. Let’s hope it’s not too long before we get back to some kind of normality. Stay safe and stay healthy.
I always like to be up to date with my news and although these are chaotic times I have been very creative during this lockdown. I have been live streaming mainly original material on Facebook and Instagram. I have been writing, learning songs and shooting some low key videos for some of my songs and uploading to social media.
I wrote music to words by the American writer Laura Kelly Fanucci. It is called ‘When this is over’. Her words, which capture so beautifully the days we are living in, have been shared many times on social media by a lot of people. After I read them and wrote the music, I sent her the video of the song and got a lovely response from her.
I recently kicked of ‘The Big night in’ hosted by T-Bar Ayr raising money for the wonderful NHS. It was a real honour to play online along with other Brilliant artists for a great cause. I also played an online gig for The Marine Hotel Troon and another for Qaurantine Sound signal.
I hope to do some kind of recording ‘When this is over’ as I feel a little bit of a creative explosion going on at #ScottNicolMusic. When things clear and we can make a date I am planning on doing a #PossibilityScreams concert for the great charity ‘Beautiful inside and out’ (watch this space).
I am pushing forward with guitar tuition over Skype/Zoom, and am having a meeting very soon with a young artist from the USA potentially writing together. The wonders of technology… Going Global… lol.
Anyway… just wanted to give you an update… stay safe… better days are coming

POSSIBILITY SCREAMS! 6 MARCH 2020
The first ‘Possibility Screams’ event of 2020 was an absolutely Brilliant night. It was held in the beautiful 15:17 Store High Street, Ayr...
2019 REVIEW - 30 DECEMBER 2019
I am so thankful that 2019 has been a very busy and successful year, I couldn’t possibly comment on every event or gig or we would be here for ages… but I wanted to say thank you to everyone who has made it special for me and wish you all a wonderful 2020 and say Happy New Year…
Here are some great highlights from 2019…
Three wonderful Possibility Screams gigs at Unity Grill Ayr featuring many great acts. Catching Fireflies / Caitlin Taylor / Ryann Alexander / Emily Best / Olivia Campbell / Emi V / Elly Priestnall / Colin Hyslop / Rory Turner / Connor Hunter and Lucy Hunter.
Two trips to Arran with amazing young artists - Catching Fireflies / Caitlin Taylor / Emi V / Elly Priestnall / Ryann Alexander and Emily Best performing for Possibility Screams at The PHT.
Ryann Alexander and Emily Best recorded original songs for the first time with Ian Matchett at Y.W.A.M. We also had a fantastic gig at Enterkine House for Prestwick Town Twinning with lovely Italian guests. The young artists that played were fantastic!
I was privileged to do some work for the amazing anti-human trafficking organisation ‘Hope for Justice’ this year: singing at one of their smaller meetings at their conference in Manchester; organising the music for a wonderful concert at New Life Prestwick featuring amazing artists - Lorraine Handling / NLP / Olivia Campbell / Bernadette / Catching Fireflies/ David Smith/ Sean MacDonald - to help raise money for Hope for Justice.
Writing and being involved in the track and video ‘Hope for Justice’ feat Bernadette, special thanks to Jamie Clark for his expertise on the project and Lorraine Handling for amazing backing vocals and Gary MacDonald for the video. We also took to the streets of Ayr and Prestwick over two Saturdays with fantastic artists Olivia Campbell / Bernadette / Lorraine Handling / Sean MacDonald / David Smith / Sian and Alison Clark, in various venues to promote the gig at New Life.
I was interviewed by Brodie Donohoe for That’s TV about Possibility Screams and my world of music. I was also included in the book ‘Raincoats and Sunglasses’ by the brilliant author Caroline Johnston and sang at her book launch.
I played many gigs this year but playing in Houston TX in March was pretty special. My highlight was playing in a Women’s Prison which actually was a wonderful gig. When I was in Houston I met Eileen Dong, a survivor of domestic abuse who has set up the charity ‘Hope PYX Global’. I took her story and wrote the song ‘Butterfly’ and the amazing Charlotte Rutter sang lead vocals on the recorded version. Thanks to Samuel Gallagher from EssGee Productions for recording and playing so many instruments on the song and to Unoma Okudo for adding wonderful vocals. It was released in October this year.
Thank you to everyone who has made this year special… Excuse me if I forgot someone’s name but I was trying to make this a highlights feature… haha…
I am looking to bigger and better in 2020. All the best for the New Year…

Arran - Sept 2019 Scott Nicol Music / Possibility Screams
Just back from an amazing weekend playing on the beautiful Island of Arran. On Friday I sang to a full house at the lovely Crofters Music Bar and Bistro in Brodick. The wonderful staff, Ealana, Jai and Chris made me feel so welcome and the crowd sang, swayed, danced and even joined me on the mic. One American man sang Johnny Cash so convincingly he had the crowd wanting more. Ealana played one of her own songs and everyone loved her sweet voice. It was a great night, I rocked hard and thanks to Cams for shooting some live footage and some great pics…Thanks very much to Ealana and Crofter’s xx
On Sat afternoon I sang on the rooftop at The PHT (The Pierhead Tavern, Lamlash) in the stunning sunshine overlooking the waters to The Holy Isle, such a perfect backdrop.
On Saturday evening I rocked it up harder at The PHT and once again the crowd seemed to love it, dancing, singing and yes, a couple of folks joined me on the mic… Vicky (one of the lovely staff members) sang with me on a great rendition of Bob Dylan’s Don’t think twice it’s alright. I must say I love The PHT and Jane always treats me like a king. The staff, Vicky, Sarah, Jordan and everyone there are just lovely.
On Sunday afternoon Possibility Screams came to The PHT. Three amazing young acts from Ayrshire came over on the ferry. They played 10 songs each and were just magnificent. Caitlin Taylor kicked it off with a great selection of covers and tore it up with the first performance ever of the original Fire in Me… the crowd just loved her. She is a wonderful singer with great composure and confidence.
Next up were Catching Fireflies fresh from a big charity gig the night before at Centrestage Kilmarnock. They brought a combination of great original song writing, brilliant vocals and guitar playing to the wonderful crowd at The PHT. Emi V closed the fantastic show with a mixture of her own original songs and well chosen covers to suit her style. She sparkled on both piano and guitar and once more the crowd were treated to great young musical Talent. The three young acts put on a great show and… Jane even asked us back. Thanks to The PHT.
Watch this space…

What a whirlwind of a summer it’s been @ScottNicolMusic and @PossibiltyScreams… and it’s not over.
In August Olivia Campbell, Evie O’Hagan Hughes and Caitlin Taylor smashed it up at Prestfest 2019. Olivia also kicked off The Harvest Festival in Girvan in great soulful style. Ryann Alexander Recorded her first Original song, The Super catchy Rising Sun. She recorded with my good friend Ian Matchett and it is sounding great.
We were privileged to be involved in a very special night at Enterkine House Hotel for the PTTA entertaining lovely Italian guests from Ariccia. I must say I was so proud of Caitlin Taylor, Catching Fireflies and Ryann Alexander who played barnstorming sets in front of a wonderful crowd. Elly Priestnall, Ken O’Hara, Colin Hyslop and two of the Italian guests Gabrielle and Matteo also played and added their own brilliance to a fantastic night. We ended the evening with a free jam with all the performers up on the stage area. Great stuff.
Samuel Gallagher from EssGee Productions and myself are teaming up for an exciting project Second Nature which we hope will be launched in Nov (more details to come).
On Sept 7th Catching Fireflies are playing at a wonderful charity event at Centrestage Kilmarnock and on the 8th Catching Fireflies, Caitlin Taylor and Emi V are going overseas to the lovely Isle of Arran to play for Possibility Screams at The PHT… The Pierhead Tavern Lamlash. Possibility Screams… JULY 2019
So many great things happening here at @Scott Nicol Music and @Possibility Screams. Catching Fireflies recorded a brilliant version of a new song The Speed of Stillness and Emily Best recorded Still Saying Goodbye. We are waiting for the final mixes at the moment.
There have been a lot of gigs since my last update in June from the fantastic Unity Grill gig. Here are some highlights...
Emily Best smashed it up at Music on The Prom, Girvan. Catching Fireflies and Emi V played at a wonderful outdoor event in beautiful weather at the stunning Culzean Castle alongside Joe McNair, Daniel MG and Hollie Robinson. Emi V played main stage. They are all so talented.
I had a wonderful time playing 4 times over two days in Arran. I am looking at joining forces with Samuel Gallagher from EssGee Productions for an exciting project (more details to follow).
We finished July with a great gig for SAW Acoustic at the beautiful New Cumnock Town Hall. Four amazing young acts, Caitlin Taylor shone at her first Gig with me with her lovely voice and personality. Hollie Robinson played superb original material and had a great way with the crowd. BUTTERFLY 1/6/19
Saturday 1st June was spectacular. We Started recording Butterfly With the super talented Charlotte Rutter and Unoma Okudo.
It was a really wonderful day... wow, such amazing vocals. I also want to thank Samuel Gallagher from EssGee Productions for all his work recording and playing on the track. The song will be out at the end of June.
The track is in aid of the great Houston TX based charity Hope Pyx Global. I wrote the song after meeting Eileen Dong and hearing about her story as a survivor of domestic abuse and the fantastic charity she has set up to help other women.
The song is really her story. Charlotte provided an amazing vocal to bring it to life and Unoma layered the song with her lush harmonies.
Watch this space for details of how you can download Butterfly in the days to come…
Thanks,
