THE THIN PLACE

ON SOUNDCLOUD

‘Where walls are weak, we hear You speak, In the silence and the song, Lifting Holy hands in Praise to the God of Grace,
We enter The Thin place’

My friend Pastor Colin Mutch spoke to me one day about ‘The Thin Place’. I must say I knew very little about these places where people felt God and Heaven was just that little bit closer. He dropped a seed in me saying he thought there was a song here.

As a song writer that was enough for me to read up a little about the subject, scribble some lyrics down and come up with a melody/chords… I must say very quickly…

Early December ‘21 I invited some brilliant singer/musician friends of mine to play on the track and we recorded it live at Y.W.A.M Seamill, Ayrshire. We also had a small crowd in attendance.

I want to thank the great Ian Matchett for setting up (with some help from my friend Allister Dickson), recording and mixing the track. It was a special night in such a wonderful room, layed out so perfectly for the recording.

Lorraine Handling was superb as ever on keys and vocals alongside the wonderful Alison Clark. Gary MacDonald and Stewart Handling both adding lovely percussion. Sean Macdonald providing very sensitive playing on electric guitar and Elizabeth Thuemmel playing the violin with such a beautiful anointing. Ian himself added some sweet bass. I am so blessed that all these talented friends helped out so well to capture the song that night and more importantly to bring Heaven down and open a door to ‘The Thin Place’… you can listen now on Soundcloud.

LYRICS

1.
Heaven and Earth meet
When we fall down at Your feet
And Worship ascends to the God of Grace
We enter The Thin Place

2.
Where walls are weak, we hear You speak
In the silence and the song
Lifting Holy hands in Praise to the God of Grace
We enter The Thin Place

Chorus
Two worlds become one as we Worship The Son
Heaven meets Earth, The Divine Touches us
The veil seems no more, Jesus is closer than ever before
We love You Lord of Grace
We Worship in The Thin Place
We love You Lord of Grace
We Worship in The Thin Place
